Taiwan’s beauty industry has excelled in recent years. Its growth rate has averaged more than 13% over the past three years, even higher than total Taiwan export growth. The Top 5 export countries from January to May 2019 are China, Hong Kong, the United States, Japan and Singapore. Japan jumped to the number four position, and Singapore entered the top five for the first time under「The New Southbound Policy.」

To assist Taiwan’s beauty industry to enhance its international popularity, TAITRA hold the “Taiwan International Beauty Press Conference“ at the Taipei World Trade Club Center at 2 pm on July 16, 2019. The conference was organized by the International Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (BOFT) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Invited international media include outlets from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Russia.

Taiwan is the mask kingdom. If annual mask products were piled up, it would be as high as 10 Taipei 101 buildings. Taiwan Masks have become ‘must buy’ souvenirs for tourists. To assist increasing numbers of Taiwanese beauty companies, we replaced the “Taiwan Beauty Alliance” with “Taiwan Beauty" this year.According to a Market Research-Mintel report, the three major trends of 2019 in the global beauty industry are ‘high-tech’, ‘green’ and ‘customized’.

Awareness of environmental protection has risen in recent years. In addition to the efficacy of cosmetics, consumers have begun to pay attention to the impact of cosmetic ingredients on personal health. According to statistics from Grand View Research, the global organic cosmetics market is expected to reach $25.1 billion by 2025.
