Taipei, March 6 (CNA) Multinational information technology company IBM plans to set up a client experience center in Taipei sometime this year to help its clients and partners keep abreast of new technology developments, its executives in Taiwan said Wednesday.

Hsu Wen-hui (徐文暉), IBM Taiwan Corp. chief technology officer, said the Taipei center will be IBM's fifth in the region, after the ones in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Lisa Kao (高璐華), IBM Taiwan general manager, said the centers allow clients to take advantage of services such as artificial intelligence (AI), cognitive computing and agile software development.

She said 2019 will be a year of integration for IBM as it hopes to combine the needs of users of technology and players in the industry to help Taiwanese industries by launching an innovative journey into AI, cloud and digital transformation.

The client experience centers in the greater China region serve over 6,000 senior level executives per year, giving them access to resources from all 33 IBM client experience centers around the world, Hsu said.

The center in Taipei will also be able to collect information provided by research and development teams at other centers, providing access to cross-industry technology solutions for finance, healthcare, manufacturing and other sectors, Hsu said.
